Hand-picked 95% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano and Mazuelo from 20+ year old vines, 12 months 95% American and 5% French 225l oak casks (2-8 yrs old racked every 6 months) a minimum 6 months in bottle before release. 2012 - a vintage marked by drought that contained the vigour of the vines but with rains in September that helped the polyphenolic ripening of grapes. Production: 200,000 litres.
Ruby colour with garnet hues, mature, strawberry, vanilla nose. Balanced, creamy smooth, velvety texture of red berries, nuts, spice flavours, structured, long lasting, persistent aftertaste. Atkin: 'this pure Tempranillo is spicy, savoury, very smooth with palate-caressing tannins and a balsamic flourish.'
