40% Garnacha
and 10% Cabernet
Sauvignon, all old vines. 20 year old Garnacha/Cabernet
and 70 year old Carineña facing north-west, planted on shale
terraced slopes at an altitude of 450 metres with average
yield of 1 kg per vine. Manual harvest during early October. It is macerated for 30 days with the skins, fermented
in stainless steel tanks at 26°C, and aged 14 months in
new French Allier (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels and
8 months in bottle. 14.5% Vol.
Ink ruby in colour, powerful
aromas of blackberry and raspberry preserves, dark chocolate,
aromatic herbs, cinnamon and nutmeg, very pronounced and full
of ripe plum fruit with mineral, herbal notes, good structure,
velvety texture, superb depth broadening into a memorable
finish of great style and impressive persistence. Limited
production - 15,000 bottles.
