100% Tempranillo between 40 and 60 years from a single vineyard in an exceptional location on the slope of Pago de Santa Cruz in the municipality of La Horra (Burgos), owned by the winery. Handpicked in 15 kg boxes with a second rigorous selection at the winery. Aged 15 months in a selection of new French oak barrels with customized toasting. Estate bottled without cold stabilization.
Bright, intensely coloured wine with elegant purple highlights and a deep heart of strong cherry red. On the nose plenty of black and red fruit, woodland berries (blueberries, currants and blackberries) appear quickly together with faint notes of orange blossom perfectly harmonised with the subtlety of the French oak from the ageing process. The result is a perfect blend between the fruit of the wine and the spicy essences of the oak: cocoa, English chocolates, pepper, caramel. In the mouth, the wine is big and lively, with notable, sweet expressive tannin completing its polish. It is structured, long and persistent with great capacity for longevity giving it qualities of stability and maturity over time. Excellent wine to accompany mature cheeses, game or spicy meat, flame-grilled red meat.
