100% Tempranillo from vineyards located at La Horra, Roa, Olmedillo, Quintana del Pidio, Sotillo de la Ribera and Gumiel de Izán. Handpicked in 15 kg boxes with a second rigorous selection at the winery. Aged 14 months in mainly new French 95% and American 5% oak barrels where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and bottled without cold stabilization. Very opaque, intense picota red cherry colour with powerful, bright, violet shades. Enhanced aromas of largely black forest fruit, ripe blueberries, white flowers, chocolate, cocoa and minerality. Notes of tobacco, together with clove and pepper, provide this splendid nose with complexity. A wine of personality and energy with a powerful, muscular and structured body, vibrant, dense black fruit, chocolate notes and polished tannins. This modern-style Ribera is finely balanced, silky, smooth and elegant with a fresh acidity that provides it with the perfect long finish. Excellent with grilled red meats, roast lamb, sheep’s cheese, stews and vegetable sauces.
