Highly selected 100% Tempranillo, hand-picked in small crates of 20kg from vineyards over 80 years old of clay and lime soils. Fermentation in 500 litre French oak casks and subsequent maceration for two weeks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged 18 months in new French oak casks and then bottled without stabilization or filtration.
Deep cherry colour with garnet rim, ripe black fruit with wild herbs and sweet mocha notes on the nose. Toasty notes with black fruit and liquorice flavours. An elegant wine that is best decanted and left to stand for an hour before serving. Production 4000 bottles.
