The symbiosis of Monastrell 80% from 48 year-old vines with Garnacha 20% from predominantly calcareous soils with sandy parts and pebbles makes for a generous and original wine. It combines various types of lengthy macerations: 14 days for the Monastrell, 18 days for the Garnacha with pre-fermentation and cold maceration processes. Aged 4 months in Hungarian and French oak barrels to refine its tannins and strengthen its character, it has an intense, bright, red cherry colour, a complex, attractive floral nose with hints of red fruits, spice, toasted and well assembled oak. A rounded, smooth palate with refined notes of tobacco, green pepper and ripened, fruit, peppery, toasted flavours, well-balanced, soft tannins with a gentle lasting finish. Great with cheeses, chicken, stews and bbq.
