The cellar’s flagship wine. 100% Tempranillo, manually harvested from average 25-year-old vines located at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria near the villages of Brinas, Haro and San Vicente de La Sonsierra. 100% destemming, 9 day fermentation with twice daily pumping over and a total 20 day maceration period with grape skins. Aged 12 months in 60% French, 35% American and 5% central European oak casks, bottled and aged for a minimum of 12 months before release. Intense dark cherry red colour. Complex, powerful berry fruit nose with hints of vanilla, cocoa and spice. Velvety softness with great depth of ripe, rich blackberry/spicy fruit on the palate, soft tannins, outstanding nobility, good structure, with a harmonic, balanced development climaxing in an elegant, full and very persistent aftertaste. Production 120,000 bottles and 2009 Crianza Magnums (1.5l): 3500 bottles. This wine combines well with stews, rice, game or poultry.
