‘This wine is for all those people of good faith who twist their boots tirelessly to carve paths we can all move along.’ A homage to those who work the land. Very limited production of only 4000 bottles, Tuercebotas is one of the few Riojas made from 100% Graciano and aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels. Intense cherry colour with very bright purple rim. Very fresh aromas of wild berry fruit and herbs, hints of cigarbox, toasted notes from the French oak. On the palate it is powerful, complex, meaty with mature ripe cherry fruit, very compact and integrated with firm sweet tannins. Lovely fresh aftertaste, very elegant and distinguished.
August 2014 Ferrán Centelles (Jancis Robinson's right-hand man) wrote: The wine has ripe red fruit, cedar, liquorice and cloves aromas. It has a dairy palate, with a creamy texture and lots of sweet spices. Tannins are slightly drying but not austere. It has a leathery long finish. Well-delineated classic style. Awarded 15.5 points
