In a wood case
Produced,
under the direction of their oenologist Mariano García,
from equal parts of Merlot,
Tempranillo
and Cabernet
Sauvignon which were harvested from 18 to 31 October under
cloudless skies with temperatures (24 deg.C) above the normal
for the time of year. 70,000 kg were collected and transported
to the bodega in 20 kg plastic boxes where the best were selected
to produce 23,500 bottles. The average characteristics of
the must of the three varieties were - density 1099, Baumé
13 deg. and total acidity 5.2. After a controlled fermentation
at 30 deg.C., the wine was transferred to 225 litres French
oak casks on 4 March 1999 where it stayed until 4 April 2000
when it was bottled. 13% Vol.
Black cherry with purple tones, sensational nose of mulberry,
ripe fruits, herbal, flowers, balsamic, minerals, wax and
noble woods, with mind-blowing intensity of fruit on palate
with aromatic and mineral notes, gloriously velvety, very
powerful structure with great depth and broadness, a wonderfully
long and lingering finish of great finesse.
